Guilty of George Floyd murder: Jury convicts Derek Chauvin on all charges

Posted on 21 April 202127 September 2021 By Sergejs Dilevka

A jury in Minneapolis has found Derek Chauvin guilty of the murder of George Floyd. The former police officer was filmed kneeling on Mr Floyd’s neck for more than nine minutes while arresting him. The jury reached its verdict and found Chauvin guilty of all three charges – second degree murder, third degree murder and manslaughter. Mr Floyd, an African American, was being arrested in connection with a minor offence. The video of his death led to worldwide protests against racism and demanding change. Clive Myrie presents BBC News at Ten reporting by Nick Bryant, Lebo Diseko at the court in Minneapolis and north America editor Jon Sopel. #BBCNews
